1. Tawang

The great Buddhist Monastery of Tawang, largest in India is dominated by hilly roads in winter and looks out onto snow-capped peaks throughout the year. Bike riders are in for a treat, Bhalukpong to Tawang is a task to note for all the bike lovers!

World’s biggest river island surrounded by the Brahmaputra River, has spectacular views for all the nature lovers. Go boat riding here and see for yourself.

3. The Grand Canyon

This is your place to suffice all your adventure kicks, perched on the East Khasi Hills of Shillong. A little-explored on the mountains state of Meghalaya will have your eyes glued to the majestic mountains. They are often called the amphitheater of Meghalaya, never ending as far as one can see. The multiple colored hues will remain in your eyes forever, earthy browns and greens to blush reds at sunsets.

4. Pelling, Sikkim

A small town at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga is most noted for its expansive views to the glaciers. High above forest-covered hills, in an aura of clouds, rocks, and snow, the route from Yoksu over Dzongri La to the Rathog Glacier will leave you breathless!

5. Darjeeling, West Bengal

6. Nathula Pass, Sikkim

A mountain pass in the Himalayas connects the Indian state of Sikkim to Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Located at the Indo China border at an altitude of 14,100 feet above sea level is a favorite hotspot for visitors coming to Sikkim. It is one of the highest motorable roads and is covered with rich alpine flora and fauna.

8. Tamenglong, Manipur

Tamenglong is the land of exotic orchids. Tamenglong in Manipur is completely composed of hill ranges and narrow valleys. The town is inhabited by the people of the Zeliangrong community. If you are fond of sacred rivers and caves or small treks in the valleys, you’ve found it!

9. Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh

Zero is a beautiful plateau, one of the oldest towns in Arunachal Pradesh. Located 1500 meters above sea level, the place is known for the terraced paddy fields. The local people practice the age-long unique system of poly-culture and water management. Mainly inhabited by the Apatani Tribe, their festivals are a treat to be a part of!

10. Kaziranga, Assam

A UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to two-thirds of the worlds great one-horned rhinoceroses and has the highest density of tigers, as claimed. Lying between the latitudes of 26°30' N and 26°45' N, and longitudes 93°08' E to 93°36' E within two districts of Assam, Golaghat and Nagaon, the Kaziranga National Park is stretched across an area of 378 sq km with an addition of 429 sq km along the present boundary of the park.
